Sometimes its Amazon, sometimes its Apple, maybe Google soon, but currently the worlds most valuable company is Microsoft.
How did Microsoft go from an old dinosaur, (who rested on their laurels with their Windows OS & MS Office domination) to a one trillion dollar company?
In the last quarter their three main revenue areas contributed fairly equally, each weighted at around 30% of total revenue generated:
- Office, LinkedIn, and Dynamics = $10.2 billion revenue
- Azure cloud, server products, and enterprise services = $9.7 billion revenue
- Windows, Xbox, and Surface = $10.7 billion revenue
Big numbers, which are getting bigger.
Under Satya Nadella, Microsoft has more subscribers than Netflix, more cloud computing revenue than Google, and a trillion dollar market cap. Enjoy the story here
