A group of mates go to Austria every year, think we’ve done 12 on the bounce so far.

Hopefully COVID won’t break that run.

I lost the rest of my group and jumped on a chair lift to find them.

I knew they’d be in a bar or en route to a bar so wasn’t too worried.

It was a snow day.

Grey.

Windy.

Not much visibility.

The guy on the chair lift with me asked me the time.

Checked my watch & told him.

Then did a double take and said ‘Eddie !?’

It was Eddie the Eagle.

We chatted on the way up.

He had just finished filming The Jump on Channel 4.

Joey Essex won it.

Apparently Joey says it was the 1st time he had ever put on a pair of ski’s.

I remember Eddies face when he was telling me,

there is no way in the world that Joey had never ski’d before.

Eddie was a top bloke, just how you imagine him to be from when you see him on TV.

I’m pretty sure I have seen a TV interview where Joey also said he can’t tell the time.
