Facebook foray into the cryptocurrency world is expected to be unveiled on Tuesday (18th June 2019).

It is expected to be a stablecoin, meaning its value will be pegged against major currencies like USD or EUR, this will help reduce the wild swings that you see to today with Bitcoin, eurethem etc.

The likes of PayPal, Mastercard, Visa & Uber are reported backers of the project according to the Wall Street Journal.

Stripe, Booking.com and MercadoLibre are also part of the project.

With all these big players involved & Facebooks reach, it feels like Globalcoin could be the first crypto project to achieve mass adoption.
